Perfect skin care begins at home
Perfect skin involves scrupulous skin care, including professional facials every six to eight weeks, but really, good skin care begins at home.
“The essentials of good skin care are sunscreen and a good cleanser with an exfoliant in it,” says Toronto dermatologist Dr. Lisa Kellett, founder of DLK on Avenue (www.dlkonavenue.com). Kellett recommends using a spot treatment on acne and an oil-free moisturizer if your skin feels tight an hour after you wash it.
“Choose a water-based moisturizer—nothing white and nothing creamy,” Kellett advises. See a dermatologist if your acne persists for more than three months.
