Famous for her role as Liberty Van Zandt on Degrassi: The Next Generation, Sarah also enjoys dancing, singing in the shower, globetrotting to exotic destinations, cooking gourmet meals, creative writing and hanging out with her friends. She is a theatre addict and is looking forward to going to university in a couple years. Sarah lives, was born and raised in Toronto, Canada where she is not a fan of the wintry, cold weather.

Her voice-over credits include episodes of the animated series Jojo's Circus, Ripping Friends, Cyberchase and Pecoca as well as voicing the lead in the animated series Englebert.

It's been a great week so far...

Hi everybody!

So, this is my first EVER official blog.

I really don’t even know what exactly a blog is—or if there is even a definition for such a random word!

But anyway, I am going to fill you in on my week, my life, myself!

First thing’s first, I should let you know that I am kind of tired today because I was filming Degrassi all week and we had a lot of night shoots. I just found out that the crew didn't wrap until 5 a.m. last night (or morning, or whatever)! Thankfully, I wasn't in that scene. I am the kind of person who functions best on a non-nocturnal schedule.

I figured I should give you a heads up in case you’re reading this and thinking, “Wow, this girl sounds kind of scattered.”

It has been a pretty great week though, starting off with a fun weekend. I had a barbeque on my roof and my friends and I stayed up all night (ha ha ha, I am already a hypocrite because I said I need my sleep) and we went to the beach in the morning. The weather on Saturday was amazing. Perfect Miriam weather: sunny and 27 degrees.

I am looking forward to tomorrow night too, because two of my friends have birthday parties, and as fate may have it, they are having them at the same place.

I hate it when I have two invites and can't decide which one I'll have to turn down. But this time things worked out great. I’ll take a camera and hopefully get some cute shots to show you.

Oh, and also coming up on my calendar is the CTV "upfronts" where cast members from various shows on the network come together and sort of have a meet-and-greet party type deal. That is happening Monday and I just got a very pretty dress to wear.

I am definitely a girl when it comes to getting dressed up. I love, love, love any excuse to wear something flirty and girly and do myself up. It is such a fun process for me. The fashion shoot that I did for F18 was a dream shoot for me because all the clothes were feminine and fun, not to mention great hair and makeup.

Okay, wow, I just realized what time it is. I am shooting today and I need to shower before work.

That is a great perk of this job. Showing up to work straight out of the shower—wet hair, no makeup, and leaving work done. Ha ha.

K, I gotta stop talking about work...I’m just blah blah blah... and now I am rambling so I should REALLY go.

It seems vaguely bizarre to read a blog and reconcile it in my head that Miriam on tv and Miriam online are the same person. Obviously I know you're not Emma, but it's still this weird translation seeing something so, well, normal?

It's nice to get a peek into the life of a Degrassi star (well, two) and be reminded that it's just... life.

And by the way? Easy to tell you're an arts person--your photographs are lovely, and your writing is terrific.

That's seems pretty cool to have a barbecue on your roof. If you have a flat roof, I mean, which I don't. Lucky! Anyway, that sucks that you had to be up so late when your not a night person. Actually, I heard that some people saw you guys block a street off in Toronto late one night for filming last week, so that's pretty cool.

Anyways enough with my star-struck-osicity.

BBQ on the roof-wow sounds like an absolute perfect thing to do with some friends.Glad you had a good time! Now 27 degrees thats-wow, and its summer?Haha never realized how different it must be up there,but whatever makes you happy I guess.

Oo Parties, always awesome.And 2 in the same night at the same place-you are so lucky!It is always a hard decision choosing between parties,so its nice you didn't have to this time.And now you get to go to a CTV party thing too, sounds like your summer is already starting great!

I love dressing up too!I mean when I actually have time, its so much fun, especially with friends, and then you always feel so pretty when you're done!

haha having your own make-up artists has got to be heaven!

Well first of all i LOVE Degrassi! it's amazing to see how much you've grown since season 1 (i just realized i sound like your great aunt or something) but anyway you're an amazing actress and i think i speak for all fans of Degrassi when i say i really appreciate how hard you and the rest of the cast work to give us a great show to watch! Wow. You're a busy one. I had to read the "27 degrees" part twice because I'm from the US (although i do have to say i've wanted to live in canada now for umm 6 years or 7 years one of the two) but i got it now. Well have a good summer.

oh man...the situation with the whole 2 invites thing, i hate those too. that happened to me this saturday and i had to choose between going to my friend's 16th b-day party and a family friend's college graduation party. i ended up going to both but i hate having to choose. it puts me akward positon, you know?well i hope you had a super fantabulous time at the parties and i hope you got some good pics=]

I love Degrassi, so much, I hate living in the U.S. I want 2 move 2 Canada as an adult. Now I don't even have the station during the school year on my TV, I miss it so much! I just wanna say that i love you and the rest of the Degrassi cast. I was born and raised in Ottawa and my mom used to watch Degrassi Junior High when we lived in Canada. But we've been living in the US for about 7 years now but i'm happy to say that in the summer of 07 after i graduate, we will finally be moving back!!! Watching Degrassi has reminded me how much i love and miss Canada and i can't wait. I love the show and can't wait for season 6!!!!!
