Welcome girls, boys, loved ones, newcomers, and other forms of life! This is the Pop Parlour. You know, a parlour, the hot spot, the source, the whatever-you-want-to-call-it space for gossip, gossip and MORE gossip. So, to start off my first gossip blog (woohoo!), here’s a recap of last week’s major Hollywood events.

So the rumours are true. According to published reports, Canada’s very own Avril Lavigne and Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley did indeed tie the knot on Saturday at a private estate in Montecito, California. People magazine reported that Avril was sporting a Vera Wang gown, as opposed to her usual rocker wardrobe. FASHION18 congratulates and wishes them all the best!

If you think the weird coupling ended with Scary Spice and Eddie Murphy, think again. It’s been rumoured through Us Weekly that 24-year-old Nicole Richie and 53-year-old Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park star) are romantically linked. We at FASHION18 don’t know whom she’s better off with, her off-and-on-again ex or her supposed current beau.

In light of all the oddball couples, there’s a ray of hope. And we found that ray in Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman. According to In Touch, these two cuties were seen on the beach laughing and having a great time. We think Jake scored a pot of gold by dating Natalie. She totally rocks! Now, I don’t remember, but do these two have a bonded name?

Do you chickadees remember the show Baywatch? Well, former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff has decided to switch sides and merge into the music industry. Actually, according to IMDB, David attempted to make it big as a singer in the past, but his attempt was thwarted when people opted to watch O.J. Simpson’s freeway chase instead of his live pay-per-view show in Atlantic City. But despite his plummeting fame here, the folks in Europe really, really love him. Here’s a downer for you all: MSN stated that former American Idol contestant Daniel James, a.k.a. DJ Boyd, has been indicted for child pornography charges (yuck!). If he’s convicted he could face up to 40 years in jail (yikes!).

Guess what? Michael Jackson is being sued—again! It’s only the 4598565489734th time he’s been in court for one thing or another. I think it’s time we leave the poor millionaire alone. Anyway, MSN reported his ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, is suing him for failing to pay her what he promised. Oh well, I’m sure he’ll get off the hook.

Someone’s making his way to Broadway. IMDB stated sexy R&B singer Usher will be debuting in the hit musical Chicago. This star will apparently play the role of Billy Flynn, the lawyer. So if you’re ever in the Big Apple, you might be able to catch Usher onstage. He’s set to appear on August 22 and will be on until October 1.
