This gymnastics movie ranks among our fave guilty pleasures.

The Lowdown: The writer of one of FASHION18’s fave movies, Bring It On, returns with Stick It, another foray into a sport often overlooked in the film world—gymnastics. Up-and-comer Missy Peregrym stars as Haley, a troubled teen and former gymnast forced to attend a competitive gymnastics school as part of her punishment for falling in trouble with the law. The best characters by far are the supporting roles played to perfection by Canadian Vanessa Lengies and Nikki SooHoo as fellow gymnasts. Lengies (who you might remember as Hilary Duff’s BFF in The Perfect Man) fully embodies her role as a nasty gymnast who has some hilarious one-liners, and SooHoo makes a standout appearance as a young gymnast inspired by Haley’s gymnastics abilities and no-holds-barred attitude.

The Goodies: Featurettes on the stunt double gymnasts featured in the movie; extra routines from real gymnasts; deleted scenes; bloopers; and even a Missy Elliott music video, “We Run This,” as the film’s official theme song.

Worth It? If you can check your cynical side at the door, Stick It makes for a perfectly breezy and entertaining evening.
